Short answer: Social media management in Dubai typically runs AED 5,000–25,000 a month with an agency, or AED 700–1,300 for a bundled telecom package covering one or two channels. SEO runs AED 1,500–50,000 a month depending on competition. Ads management — separate from media spend — runs AED 3,000–20,000 a month, or 15–25% of spend. All excluding 5% VAT.

This is for founders and marketing managers in the UAE who already pay for a retainer, or are about to, and want to know if the invoice is fair — not for someone still choosing an agency or a platform, which choosing a marketing agency in Dubai without getting burned and which ads work in the UAE cover in full.

As of September 2026, these three retainers each span roughly a thirty-to-one range, and almost none of it is fraud — it mostly reflects platforms, original content and how competitive a market a package covers. The ranges below come from published UAE pricing pages, a telecom operator's retail packages and 4AI's own from-prices, checked against what buyers on Reddit and Quora say they were quoted — a reality check, not market data.

What determines whether a retainer in Dubai is cheap or fairly priced?

A social media, SEO or ads retainer is priced by how much original work it takes each month, not by its name on the invoice. A manager posting to one Instagram account from a template, and a strategist running technical fixes and outreach across three languages, are both sold as "a retainer" — and cost ten times apart.

ServiceTypical monthly range (AED, excl. VAT)What it usually includesWhat is usually missing
Social media management700 – 50,000+Content calendar, scheduled posting, basic community managementOriginal photo/video, strategy, paid amplification, more than one language
SEO1,500 – 50,000+Technical fixes, some content, keyword tracking, a monthly reportEnough content and links to move competitive terms, a named strategist
Ads management (excl. media spend)3,000 – 20,000, or 15–25% of spendCampaign setup, optimisation, reportingCreative testing at scale, landing pages matched to the ad

Each range is cited below, from pages published between April and June 2026 and checked in September 2026 — none is "the" price; scope sets the number, not the service's name.

How much does social media management cost per month in Dubai?

Social media management in Dubai costs from about AED 670 a month for a bundled, templated telecom package to AED 50,000 or more for a multi-platform team producing original video daily.

TierPrice (AED/month, excl. VAT)PlatformsPosts per monthWhat's included
Telecom bundle (e&, Lite–Pro)672 – 1,290Facebook + Instagram5 – 10Content calendar, templated creatives, monitoring, reporting
Basic agency5,000 – 10,0001 – 212 – 20Static graphics, basic community management
Growth10,000 – 25,0003 – 440 – 60Short-form video, bi-weekly reporting
Premium25,000 – 50,0004 – 680 – 120Professional photo/video production, weekly calls
Enterprise50,000+All relevant channels120+Studio production, influencer coordination, real-time dashboards

The telecom-bundle row is e&'s own pricing: the same tiers cost AED 790–1,290 with no commitment, less if paid upfront for a year, with a two-month exit charge for early cancellation. The agency tiers are digitalfarm's Dubai pricing (15 May 2026), which also notes boutique agencies commonly land at AED 8,000–15,000 — close to 4AI's own floor of AED 8,000 a month, excluding VAT.

A package around AED 1,500 a month — a figure that comes up in Dubai buyers' threads — is not automatically a scam, but it buys scheduling on a template, not strategy: one platform, a handful of posts, no original photography, basic-reply community management only. Once paid or gifted creators are involved, each creator needs the UAE's Advertiser Permit, mandatory since 1 February 2026 for paid and unpaid promotion alike, and the business should check it before the first post. What most packages leave out, at any tier, is enough original content to stop repeating the same templates, and Arabic or Persian written natively rather than translated.

How much should SEO cost per month in Dubai?

SEO in Dubai runs from about AED 1,500 a month for a single-location package to AED 50,000 or more for a multilingual programme. Two detailed published breakdowns, live as of September 2026, are close enough to treat as a real market range.

TierPrice (AED/month, excl. VAT)Typical scopeBest for
Local1,500 – 5,000Google Business Profile, on-page basics, 20–30 keywords, one cityA single-location business with local competition
SME / national4,000 – 12,000Technical SEO, 4–12 content pieces a month, 5–10 quality links, 100+ keywords, an account managerA growing business competing across the UAE
Competitive / multilingual12,000 – 25,000Arabic plus English, 10–25 authoritative links a month, a senior strategistReal estate, finance, medical, e-commerce
Enterprise / pan-UAE25,000 – 50,000+Embedded team, PR-driven link building, multiple languagesLarge, multi-market operations

The ranges come from Skimbox (27 June 2026), which names AED 3,000–8,000 as "the sweet spot for a growing SME," and Global Media Insight (18 April 2026), whose four tiers run AED 4,500 to 15,000 by keyword and page count. 4AI's floor for SEO & GEO is AED 7,500 a month, excluding VAT.

A month of real SEO work looks the same everywhere: technical fixes, content briefed against actual search demand, outreach for genuine links, Google Business Profile management, and a report showing movement rather than activity. Below about AED 1,500 that list does not fit the hours available — what often ships instead is an automated link package and a templated report, a large part of why "no rankings after six months" is a repeated complaint about cheap Dubai SEO. Real content and technical work typically takes three to six months to compound; no movement at all in that window is fair to question, three weeks is not.

SEO increasingly has a second job: being quotable by ChatGPT, Gemini and other assistants when someone asks a buying question instead of typing a search. That layer is usually called GEO; at 4AI it sits inside the same monthly SEO & GEO fee — what actually gets a UAE business recommended by ChatGPT covers the work.

What does ads management cost, and why is media spend billed separately?

Ads management — the fee for strategy, creative and optimisation — typically costs AED 3,000 to 20,000 a month, or 15% to 25% of spend under a percentage model. Either way, it is separate from the media budget, paid directly to Google, Meta, TikTok or Snapchat rather than through the agency — confusing the two is the most common way quotes get compared unfairly.

Fee modelTypical rangeRewardsWatch for
Flat monthly feeAED 3,000 – 20,000/monthA better campaign, since the fee does not move with spendVague scope — fix deliverables in writing
Percentage of media spend15% – 25% of budgetGrowing the budget, not necessarily the resultThe fee rising even when performance does not

Prism's 2026 guide to Dubai agency fees (updated 22 June 2026) puts flat fees for smaller budgets at AED 3,000–10,000 a month and full-service agencies — strategist, media buyer, content team, reporting — at AED 10,000 to 20,000. 4AI's floor for ad campaign design is AED 9,000 a month, excluding VAT, with spend always billed directly to the platform.

Whichever model is used, the fee should buy enough creative variants for a real test, a monthly refresh of whatever is fatiguing, and landing pages that promise what the ad promises. Media budgets, platform choice and lead quality are a separate, bigger decision — which ads actually work in the UAE covers sizing the budget and judging the leads.

Setup fees, contracts and the small print that changes the real price

The headline fee is rarely the whole cost. Setup fees, minimum terms and notice periods all move the real price, and every one is negotiable before signing. e&'s social packages cost less on a 12-month commitment than with none, but charge two months' fee to exit early — worth the maths first.

  • Setup fee. Some agencies charge one for the first month's strategy; ask whether it sits on top of the retainer or replaces it.
  • Minimum term. Published Dubai SEO packages commonly ask for three to six months, since a shorter engagement cannot show movement; ask what applies to social and ads before signing.
  • Notice period. Agree it in writing before you sign.
  • VAT. 5%, charged on top of every fee above — a quote that omits it should be queried before signing.
  • Bundles. Often discounted together; check the bundle does not quietly cut the hours going into each service on its own.

This is the same contract discipline — ownership, IP transfer, exit clauses — covered fully in choosing a marketing agency in Dubai without getting burned.

What should you demand in a monthly marketing report?

A monthly report should prove the fee produced something measurable, not that the team stayed busy — reach and "engagement" are activity metrics, not proof of value. Ask for these every month:

  1. Cost per qualified lead, not cost per lead — one never contactable or never a fit should not count.
  2. Leads broken down by source, so an underperforming channel is visible before the budget is judged by the others.
  3. Which specific content or ad produced enquiries that actually closed, not just the most views.
  4. Rankings and organic traffic for the terms actually briefed, tracked over time, not as a single snapshot.
  5. Whether the brand is surfaced and described accurately when sampled against ChatGPT, Gemini and similar assistants — a newer, smaller line item, but a real one.

A report built only from platform-dashboard screenshots is the clearest sign nobody is translating activity into a result. Ask for these in writing before the first invoice, not after the third one disappoints.

Why native Arabic or Persian content costs more than a translation add-on

Native Arabic or Persian content usually costs more because it is a second piece of original writing from a shared brief, not a translation pass on the English — pricing it like an add-on is usually where "we do Arabic too" quietly becomes machine-translated copy nobody reviewed. 4AI's floor for copywriting is AED 3,500 a month and content production from AED 6,000, covering whichever languages are briefed.

This is where the research behind this article found the sharpest mismatch between budget and expectation. One freelance brief posted in September 2026 asked for Instagram and TikTok management across a group of companies and restaurants for the equivalent of roughly AED 1,100 a month, required AI tools, and drew nearly twenty bids within hours — a price that buys scheduling, not native-language strategy across two scripts. SEO briefs increasingly say what they do not want, too: one manufacturer's brief ruled out low-quality backlinks outright, a sign that a buyer burned once pays more the second time for links that will not be penalised later.

How 4AI prices social media, SEO and ads

4AI's own floors, excluding VAT: social media management from AED 8,000, SEO & GEO from AED 7,500, and ad campaign design from AED 9,000 a month, with content production from AED 6,000 and copywriting from AED 3,500 where a retainer needs more original material than the base scope covers. None carries a percentage-of-spend fee: media budgets are paid by the client directly to the platform, so the incentive stays tied to the work, not the bill's size.

Frequently asked questions

Is ad spend included in the management fee?

Normally not. The fee — flat AED 3,000–20,000 a month, or a percentage of spend — covers strategy, creative and optimisation; media spend is paid by the client directly to Google, Meta, TikTok or Snapchat. If a quote bundles both into one number, ask for the split before signing.

Is AED 800 a month for SEO a scam?

Not necessarily, but it sits below every published SEO package found for Dubai, which start around AED 1,500. At AED 800, expect an automated link package and a templated report rather than technical fixes and genuine outreach. It can be a reasonable holding move with no budget yet — just don't expect it to move competitive rankings, or sign a long contract at that price.

How long does SEO take to show results?

Technical fixes can show within weeks — faster indexing, fewer crawl errors. Content and link-building, most of what a retainer pays for, typically take three to six months to move rankings, longer for competitive terms. No movement at all after six months is fair to question; judging a programme after three or four weeks is judging it before the work has had time to compound.

Do agencies charge extra for Arabic or Persian content?

Usually yes, and reasonably so: a native version is original writing from a shared brief, not a translated add-on. Budget for it closer to a second language's worth of copywriting than a small surcharge — 4AI's floor for copywriting is AED 3,500 a month. If a quote treats Arabic or Persian as free, ask who is actually writing it.

What happens to my accounts if I cancel a retainer?

With a properly contracted agency, nothing changes, because nothing should have moved into the agency's name to begin with: accounts, ad accounts, Google Business Profile and analytics should already sit in your name, with the agency working inside them as an admin. Losing access on cancellation means they were set up the wrong way — see choosing a marketing agency in Dubai for the full checklist.
