GPT Image
Creates images from text and makes precise follow-up edits with reference images.
FrontierOpenAI

In short
Evaluate for a workflow that must move between a new composition and precise follow-up changes. Compare a reference-based product scene, a multilingual layout and an edit that changes one object. Score what stays stable, not just the appeal of the first output.
What it can do
- Text-driven generation
- Image editing with references
- Iterative, targeted edits
Limits to plan for
- Output still needs product, text and identity checks.
- Do not use retired GPT Image 1 as a current integration.
A campaign image rarely ends with the first attractive result. GPT Image is worth evaluating when the brief needs both a new composition and follow-up changes that protect approved details. OpenAI documents GPT Image 2.5 Sunburst and Flare for generation and reference-based editing.
Start with the revision that matters
Build a small test around an actual production decision: place an approved product in a scene, adapt the composition for a second format, then change one object. Use the same product references throughout. The decisive question is whether the revision improves the requested area while preserving the rest of the asset.
For English, Arabic or Persian layouts, reserve time for a designer to check lettering and reading order. Keep final campaign text editable when the design will need translation or frequent updates. Generated text should enter the same proofreading process as any other artwork.
Review before delivery
Compare package geometry, exact lettering and the pixels outside the requested edit. Inspect the asset at delivery size, especially small labels and reflective edges. API access depends on the account and selected model; older GPT Image 1 integration examples should not be treated as current instructions.
Bring the product files, intended placements and revision requirements to a 4AI graphic design consultation. They provide a clearer basis for scope than a model name alone.
